Mercury Vets | mobile veterinary unit
Are you an animal owner who would benefit from the convenience of a fully qualified vet making a house call to visit your pet? Perhaps you are house bound, extremely busy with children or maybe your pet is one of the millions who really hates travelling? Mercury Vets is a totally new concept in routine veterinary surgery in the UK – bringing the operating theatre to you! Having a vet visit you greatly reduces any stress and worry your pet may suffer - they will hardly even leave their home and will be back in familiar surroundings when they wake up
The mobile veterinary unit is a state-of-the-art, fully fitted, operating theatre. There is the usual equipment you would expect in a normal theatre and more :-
- anaesthetic machine
- operating table
- dental unit
- dental table
- sterile instrument kits
- weighing scales
- recovery kennels
- airconditioning and under-floor heating
We can bring the unit to your premises and your pet hardly leaves his own home.
We can operate on dogs, cats and rabbits.
- Individual requests to neuter (spaying or castration) at your home.
- Soft tissue surgical procedures (e.g. wound suturing, lump or wart removals, reconstructive surgery).
- Blood samples for routine or geriatric screening.
- Pet acupuncture.
The team will also be offering special days when groups of pets can be neutered in accessible locations (see website or phone for dates and locations). 24 hour emergency cover is also provided as part of the service, offering you peace of mind, during the post-operative period.
Mercury Vets realise that pets are an important part of the family and with this in mind the team are committed to providing affordable care that doesn’t compromise the household finances. The mobile surgery has lower overhead costs compared to a normal surgery, a saving that is passed on to the client.
The mobile surgery is based in South Dartmoor, servicing an area of approximately 25 miles. Travel charges are made according to your postcode. Please note that if your pet is registered with a veterinary practice and undergoing treatment, Mercury Vets will only operate once permission is given. Vaccination and parasite treatments are offered only if there is no interference with any existing treatment from your vet.
